Hello Parallel Family

Given the news tonight regarding the governments Social distancing measures to reduce social interaction between people to help slow the transmission of Coronavirus (COVID-19).

We have made the difficult decision to suspend practical lessons at Parallel for the near future. It would be irresponsible of us to remain open in this way given the unprecedented circumstances we are currently under and would put unnecessary pressure on families to attend. We know how disappointing this is and also how important the parallel family is to everyone. It almost seems ironic that at a time like this when we will undoubtedly feel uncertainty and out of touch we are removing the very thing that gives us enormous well-being.

But you should know that Lucy and I are not people to be messed with and no Coronavirus is going to keep us from doing what we love.  So we have had our thinking caps on and we think we have found a way to continue the valuable learning we provide at parallel, prepare for competitions the show (it will happen at some point) and keep healthy in the upcoming weeks not to mention have some much needed fun.

We have decided to take a leaf out of the universities books and transfer to E-Learning. We very much hope that you will join us up until Easter when we will re-evaluate the provision and also format. We are in underrepresented territory here so please bear with us but after much discussion we are planning on launching tomorrow 17th March on The Parallel Facebook Live at 4pm for Holt junior street and 4.45 for Holt junior contemporary. We will save the live and it will remain on stories for those that cant make the scheduled time for 24 hrs. The classes will include warm up/technique/ choreography and a cool down. We will endeavor to continue learning content that would have been learnt in lessons and will be used for the upcoming events above but understandably there will be some adaptions.

The Facebook page will now be set to Private to ensure Parallel students are the only ones who have access but moving forward we are looking into other platforms that will enable a more interactive approach. We hope you will find this a valuable resource and we are working hard to ensure a fantastic experience for our valued students. If you have any questions please direct them to studio@paralleldance.co.uk.

Look forward to seeing you tomorrow night…… Now I need to pick Lucy a suitable outfit, I’m thinking giant unicorn?

Lots of Love

Emma and Lucy

We are aware of a couple of students who don’t have access to Facebook please either download the APP or contact Lucy on 07747796798 to make other arrangements.
