- Hope you’re enjoying the warmer weather, Summer seems finally to be here, which means it’s nearly time for our end of year showcase, “Spellbound” which will take place on the 22nd and 23rd of June at The Atrium, North Walsham.
Please put all dates below in your calendar, and try to keep as many of these dates as free as possible. All the events we attend are great for the family, so make a day of it, whilst gaining some valuable performance experience.
END OF YEAR SHOWCASE
Tickets go on sale on Monday the 13th of May in class. £7.50 or £6 concessions (OAP & Students) so please get them early to avoid disappointment. We regret we cannot hold tickets without payment. This years show will be held at The Atrium, North Walsham High School, Spenser Avenue, NR28 9HZ. This is a lovely venue, but seats are limited.
Advanced students will be required from 10am on Saturday, all other students at 11am with the exception to pre-school classes, who will not join us until 1pm, ready for the run through and finale.
Please make sure you bring food and drink. Food will be available to purchase at specific points in the day.
Sunday is a slightly later start with all students expected at 12pm. We are asking to try and negotiate a tech-run rehearsal prior to the showcase, more details will follow.
If you can’t make it to any of the dates, please notify Lucy ASAP.
NEED TO KNOW
There is a costume list, and as always we work very hard to source reasonably priced costumes that the students still feel special wearing (rather than using the over priced catalogues), but that does mean that we require payment upfront for the items that we are providing.
If there are any financial issues please find a quiet time to speak to Lucy or Emma, as we will always do our best for each child.
Programmes will be on sale during each show.
Those lucky enough to win a trophy last time will be mentioned, and if you have one of the larger trophies, please can they be returned by the 1st of June.
If you or anyone you know would like an advertising space, this can be purchased at £25 Full Page, £15 Half Page and £10 Quarter Page. Please send your advert to emma@paralleldance.co.uk
There will also be a professional photographer (Life Photography), who will be taking solo and group shots, as well as during the performance. Photo’s are always cheaper on the day, so please bring cash with you, if you would like to purchase a photo of your child.
We will be recording the showcase, and DVD’s will be released at the beginning of the new term in September. Last years “Venture To The Dome” DVD will also be on sale, as well as refreshments, TIKI Dancewear, Raffle and Spellbound t-shirts will be available to buy in class soon.
WE NEED YOU
We have about 150 students to two of us (gulp!) at Parallel, so to ensure a safe and enjoyable show we need your help. So if you think you can lend a hand to one or both of the shows (if you’re that mad!), please let us know. We need front of house, back of house, hotdog sellers, make up artists, crowd control, not to mention to make Lucy a cup of tea, tell her not to get stressed, and find her belongings.
For safeguarding reasons, if you are not identified as staff (with exception of identified parents of our youngest students) you will NOT have access to back stage on show days. Students will be released into the foyer once they have put their costumes back, and left their areas as found.
CONGRATULATIONS
We would just like to congratulate, and thank all of the students who have taken part in competitions and workshops. It has taken a lot of courage to compete, or go on stage, all of our students do so with professionalism, poise and pizazz, and we couldn’t be prouder of one and all.
